Hey Now – I’ll get around to upgrading it to work with all the 2.3 features but I have no plans to release a 3 column version of it. If you wanted to commission a 3 column version of it I am sure that I could do it at a very affordable price.

I love this theme’s look . Simple and functional. Do you have plans to release a 3 column version or one that is compatible with WP-2.3?

One more change I made to this theme: An ordered list was being displayed with bullets, and an unordered list was being displayed with numbers; so I swapped the definitions for .post ul li and .post ol li in style.css

Bill – Hi, the problem is that widgets are implemented differently in WordPress 2.2 – they are actually in the codebase and no longer widgets.

If I changed how widgets work in this theme so that they work in WP 2.2 then they won’t work for the rest of the earlier versions of WP.

So, as of now, I am up in there air about how to proceed.

A follow-up, as the end of my post was cut off:

The change casts argument 2 to the array type, and seems to work fine, but is there a way you can change the theme itself so the fix is not necessary?

I am starting a new blog and chose your very attractive “Independence Day” theme. In my WordPress 2.2 installation running PHP 5.2.1, when I installed the theme, I received the following error message: Warning: array_merge() [function array_merge]: Argument 2 is not an array in: …/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 53. Based on the comments on this post:

I changed line 53 of widgets.php to:

$sidebar = array_merge($defaults, (array)$args);

Ralph – Hey Now, thanks for the kind words. That red bar under the menu is for sub menus. That is, if you have a page that has sub-pages then red bar area will be auto-magically filled with a menu of those sub pages.

Okay – I am sure that there is a better way to say that then my scrambled prose, but hopefully you get the idea.
